Have you heard that Lonely Planet has bestowed upon Queens (yes, Queens) the title of #1 travel destination in the United States for 2015? Queens, the poor little sister to uber-cool Brooklyn, may not be the uncool sibling after all!
Boro Hotel, a fabulously industrial-chic hotel, just opened this summer (soft open rates until September 8th) and has already garnered rave reviews on Google and Trip Advisor (#1 of 26 hotels in Long Island City). All 108 rooms include floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of Manhattan and Queens.
Queens is New York’s largest borough by size and is home to 2 million people. The populations’s ethnic diversity is staggering – residents hail from every corner of the globe. The variety of world cuisines has repurposed Queens as a food destination – with no equal! Just minutes from public transit and Manhattan and Brooklyn, and Astoria’s new 24-block Kaufman Arts District. Let’s not forget Smorgasburg, MOMA’s PS1, the Noguchi Museum, more information on Noguchi, Queens Museum and the Museum of the Moving Image, to name a few must-see destinations in Queens. If you need to see the Atlantic Ocean, there’s also Rockaway Beach.
Now you know Queens has so much to do and such great food. You also know the best hotel to stay at when you’re in Queens!
