A Native American artist, Caroline Blechert has been making and selling jewelry since she was 9 years old. At 17, she received the award for Best Emerging Artist at the largest festival in the Northwest Territories – Great Northern Arts Festival in Inuvik. Quillwork – using porcupine quills- has been around a long time, but Caroline devised certain techniques using quills in her creations. Read more about Caroline here and her jewelry can be purchased here or here.
