As a blogger, much of my time is spent sitting in front of the computer. Between writing new posts and researching for inspiration, maintaining the blog can be very time consuming. Because my work is so sedentary, I try to begin every day with exercise. Luckily, I am a morning person and can easily wake up at 5:30am to start my day. I actually get up before that so that I have enough time for my morning cocktail, I mean coffee! We live in a very busy, sometimes crazy world and giving yourself little doses of pleasure is essential to work/life balance. My coffee and my exercise are probably the two most relaxing things I have in my life. Oh, and my dog! When I have been sitting at my computer for too long, Charley vigorously and aggressively nudges my arm to go outside to play. Taking this little break a few times a day, clears my head and gives me renewed energy when I sit back down at the computer. Another thing that really helps with my work/life balance is to never bring my phone to the table. When dinner is put on the table, my phone is charging in its cradle, and email and social media wait until the next day. How do you maintain balance in your life?
P.S. A few weeks ago I posted my favorite apps that make my life easier. This helps a little, too!

Today, I’m participating with The B Bar in a blog linkup. Below are all the blogs that also participated and answered: How do you maintain your work/life balance?

  1. Carrie

I wonder how people manage who don’t drink coffee and don’t exercise? Seriously.

  2. Carrie I am so with you on coffee and exercise! I couldn’t get through my day without either. And phones at the dinner table- never! Such a bad habit. Great tips!
