To my delight, my husband and I spent Wednesday night watching Toy Story 3 on the rooftop of the newly opened Asbury Hotel. If that weren’t enough to sound like a perfect Summer night, the gorgeous rooftop provided us with the privilege of seeing a stunning sunset, for no extra charge! The Asbury Hotel has rooftop movies all Summer long at their Baronet “theater”. The Asbury, of the Salt Hotels Group*, opened Memorial Day Weekend, and I am not exaggerating when I say it is already a Jersey Shore destination. For a $7 movie ticket, you get free popcorn and bottled water, chairs, bean bags or yoga mats, and if it’s cold, towels to keep you warm. A ridiculously beautiful pool with a food truck on premises, a beer garden, a lounge with ping-pong, pool table, board games and a pinball machine, and 8am yoga classes on the rooftop create an unusual atmosphere for any average hotel, but perfect for the vibe of Asbury Park. Their reasonable room rates and room options range from hostel-style bunk beds to roomy suites ensure The Asbury can accommodate and satisfy every type of traveler.
