Poppy Seed Cake

Ten minutes! I just timed myself, from preheating the oven, to putting it in the oven to cook: TEN MINUTES!!! Nothing makes me happier than quick and easy. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but come on, a melt-in-your-mouth cake from start to finish in the oven in 10 minutes – that deserves some sort of title, doesn’t it?
The best part is, I had all the ingredients in the house! I always try to keep Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake or Golden Butter Cake mix in the house, just for this reason. Yes! I had one in the pantry. Check. 8 oz. sour cream. Check. 1/2 cup of sugar. Check. 3/4 cup of oil. Check. 4 eggs. Check. and 1/4 cup Poppy Seeds. Check. Check. Check.

Poppy Seed Cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and sugar a Bundt pan.

1 box Duncan Hines Golden Butter or Classic Yellow Cake Mix
8 oz. sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/4 cup poppy seeds

Mix well, pour in bundt pan, bake for 50 minutes or until inserted knife comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 20 min, turn over onto plate and carefully remove. I’ve destroyed quite a few trying to remove the cake too soon. You have a beautiful, semi-homemade dessert! Enjoy!
